PROJECT DETAILS:

In 2018, the duo of RG Collaborative and Lancer + Beebe was selected by the Ball State Board of Trustees to design a new Multi-Cultural Center at the heart of campus. The project will provide the same functions and sense of belonging the current Multicultural Center hosts as well as the following goals: underrepresented students ability to see themselves reflected in the space, facilitate engagement around multi-cultural issues, reflect the university’s commitment to inclusive excellence, and enhance the campus master plan. The 10,000 square foot facility will complement the existing campus via materials and form while taking on modern influences such metal canopies at both entrances. The first floor contains public meeting spaces, a café, and a monumental stair to the second floor where offices are located alongside a library; all with excellent views of campus. The center is expected to open Fall of 2020.
