Rossville Consolidated Schools identified areas within their K-12 school building in need of updating or expansion. The major needs identified were relocation to the Agriculture department into the school building, additions and updates of classroom and athletic activity space, and a pronounced visitor entry. The new entry addition contains the administration, counseling services, media center, 2 classrooms and a learning riser. The 2-story glass entry space acts as a beacon for visitors and the glass extends at the clearstory level through the media center which occupies what was previously a courtyard, creating a wonderfully daylit space. The new academic addition includes labs, classrooms and support space for Agriculture, Band and Art. There is also a fieldhouse addition complete with 2 athletic courts and a disconnected transportation facility, each utilizing economical pre-fabricated metal structure. Most of the existing building was constructed in the 1960s and simply needed mechanical equipment
upgrades or slight architectural alterations to better serve the schools current needs.
